The Walk
The Ewings Walk is taking place on the 4th and 5th of April 2009 in the picturesque countryside of North Yorkshire, just a stone throw away from Harrogate.
The walk comprises of a figure of eight circuit of the Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs, which is a total of 8 miles or 12.5km. Participants can walk the circuit as many times as they want up to 100 km. Most walkers have opted for 25km, 50km, 75km or 100km!
The terrain for the walk is very good; Paths are broad and flat, there are no hills and no busy
roads to cross.

Most walkers are participating in teams, each with their own individual colour. If you wish to join but don’t have a team, don’t be put off! Just contact one of the organisers!

Registration: Be sure to register by filling out the registration form. This helps us to make sure we can keep track of all the walkers & ensure safety on the day! It also gives us an idea of how many medals we need! If you haven't already got a registration form, just email us & we'll send one ASAP!
Directions & Parking: Although there is ample parking space, try to car share for we are expecting
quite a lot of eager walkers on the day! The designated parking area is the Swinsty car park - just
off Smithson's Lane. There will be a shuttlebus to escort you from there to the Fewston car park where
we will be setting off. You're welcome to walk there - it's a perfect warm up!

Preparation: Comfortable shoes, warm but light layers and something waterproof just in case would seem to be the order of the day.
On the weekend: On the Saturday, please meet at 09h00 in the Fewston carpark to complete your registration, collect your walker’s tag and your T-shirt, and meet up with your team. The walk will start at 10h00 on Saturday and Sunday.
Amenities: There are public toilets in the Fewston carpark and there will be refreshments on sale but you may wish to bring your own supplies and plenty of water. The will be St. John’s Ambulance First Aiders on site.
Please remember to de-register at the registration desk and collect your goody bag!
